Kate,Katherine Elizabeth Donovan
We little knew that morning
that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
although we cannot see you,Katherine Elizabeth Donovan
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
our chain will link again.
We love you and miss you, Mom, Dad, Kevin

“…Our Beautiful Elizabeth
passed out of our arms and into God’s @ 6 :20pm pst on 10/21. Our sadness and
grief knows no bounds. but we do want to thank you from the bottom of our
ragged hearts for all your prayers and good wishes for her survival. There
were just too many complications and though she fought like a bear, she just
couldn’t surmount…” (from a message from Elizabeth’s Father)

To the Little Sweetheart that we barely knew.
We will miss you and love you all the days of our lives.

I have stood at the ocean’s edge, seeking that which man has sought through the breaking waves of time. I have walked through the silent dense forests speaking with my brother the animal.

I have gone to the far place in minutes, where it took my father days to travel, nay, years. I have been lost in the love of a woman’s passion, seeming to not return the same as when I left.

I have spoken to such Gods as have revealed themselves and communed with spirits having taken earthly shapes. I have known a good era as it was upon me, passing into but a memory from which I drew sustenance.

I have poured my best into my children, knowing it was not good enough. I have ridden the notes of songs in the vast expanse of mental space.

I have seen the depths of sound wash over my soul as I asked unanswerable questions. I have died, only to return unwillingly to a place I never meant to enter.

I have been an abandoned soul on a windswept mountain top and have exalted in feelings no other human dares to remember.

I was, I am, I will to be a wizard molded by knowledge, an enchanter shaped by skill, a magician by my own choice, a sorcerer guided by the mysteries of life. I am all of these and more…

I am your father.

Hap was an accomplished musician with a golden voice. His day gigs were many but included interior design in and around New England. His group, Jazz Galley, played in and around Boston, Massachusetts during the 60’s and early 70’s.

His sense of humor, his wide and expansive heart, his love of children and animals lives on in our memories of him. If love could have saved him he would be here with us…

In a world not always caring, Hap was a rarity—not a vindictive bone in his body. He was in our corner always and will be in our hearts always.

Bob was a river boatman, desert rat, and to many a character
symbolic of a bygone era in Southeast Utah. He came to
Moab, Utah in 1970. He established Moab’s first bicycle
shop, boated with the old river runners, and taught
First Aid and Wilderness First Responder courses to many of
today’s river raft guides.

He moved to Castle Valley in 1974 and built his first house
on top of a friend’s chicken coop. He formed Descent River
Expeditions in 1984 and co-invented Cross-Country Croquet,
often played at “Deglo Downs.”

Robert was as unique as the land he loved so much. His gruff
voice and rough manner only slightly covered up a sweet,
loving man who will be deeply missed.

Adios amigo…see you at the takeout…

Rob was a loving Father, son and brother. He died showing more concern for others than he did Robert M. Dalyfor himself. He did not want to be fussed or hovered over. He just wanted everyone to take care of themselves. He said he was secure with God and that he was ready. He tried to make everyone happy and would help those that were in need. He did not like to hear anyone putting someone else down and would say so or leave the room. Rob will be missed physically, but will be with us in our hearts.

Jessica Dalman ✵ 1974-2003

Name at birth: Jessica Dalman
Date of birth: 10/30/1974
Place of birth:
Date of death: 10/16/2003
Place of death:
Place of burial: Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Jess left many, many people behind who loved her dearly. She left us all much too soon; left without a chance for us to say goodbye or to tell her again how much we love her. Let us do that here then.

This poem was a favorite of Jessica’s. I thought it would be fitting.

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

She was a child and I was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love —
I and my Annabel Lee —
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud by night
Chilling my Annabel Lee;
So that her high-born kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
Went envying her and me: —
Yes! that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of a cloud, chilling
And killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we —
Of many far wiser than we —
And neither the angels in Heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee: —

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea —
In her tomb by the side of the sea.
