Todd was an “outdoorsman.” He had many friends. I will always feel Todd’s presence the first day the “fall air” arrives in Autumn. He would have lived in the mountains or the wilderness if Diabetes hadn’t stripped him of so much before it finally took him.
I want to encourage anyone who has or “thinks” he has symptoms of Diabetes to “please” not let Diabetes control you, but you take charge and control your Diabetes! It doesn’t have to end your life, it can just be a way of your new life. God bless you.
Todd, to this day, I go to bed thinking of you and awake thinking of you and our silly childhood memories that you left with me. I know Kipp found you when God called him home, too. I love and miss you guys-
your sister – Kim Hohon Owen

Not actually sure he died in Texas, some evidence (word of mouth) that he went there after he deserted. Wrote letters to mother only until her death, she gave instructions that the letters be buried with her.

I never knew my dad as well as I would have liked to.
He kept his emotions to himself, as many of us do.
He was a decent, hardworking man who tried his best to provide for his family.
I miss him, and wish he had lived to meet his grandson.
Please don’t start smoking or quit now if you do. That’s what killed him.

I’m Free

Don’t Grieve for me, for now I am Free
I’m following the path God laid for me…
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found the peace at the close of day.

If parting has left a void
The fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
and yet, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much –
Good Friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief:
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me.
God wanted me now, He set me free.

“Miss You”
“Love you”
“See You”
Your Loving Brother – Roy

There could never be enough room to write of all the things you did, Dad. I honor you for trying your best at all times, and fighting to the end.
More than that, I honor your commitment to Christ last year, and therefore know that you are in heaven. I waited 19 years for that commitment, glad you made it before it was too late.
You always brought a smile where possible, always had a quip, joke or jest – some didn’t understand, but perhaps that’s because they were just unhappy people.

Thanks Dad – I WILL see you again. Love, Mark

You went to sleep and did no wake up. How? Why? We all had so much fun. You came to Talladega when we were all in the 6th grade. You could talk faster than anyone I ever knew. There are many great times that we can all remember. We wished we still had you. Tyler is so loved, don’t worry. With you and Becky as his guardian angels he’ll be fine. We love you.
