I never knew my dad as well as I would have liked to.
He kept his emotions to himself, as many of us do.
He was a decent, hardworking man who tried his best to provide for his family.
I miss him, and wish he had lived to meet his grandson.
Please don’t start smoking or quit now if you do. That’s what killed him.

I’m Free

Don’t Grieve for me, for now I am Free
I’m following the path God laid for me…
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found the peace at the close of day.

If parting has left a void
The fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
and yet, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much –
Good Friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief:
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me.
God wanted me now, He set me free.

“Miss You”
“Love you”
“See You”
Your Loving Brother – Roy

You went to sleep and did no wake up. How? Why? We all had so much fun. You came to Talladega when we were all in the 6th grade. You could talk faster than anyone I ever knew. There are many great times that we can all remember. We wished we still had you. Tyler is so loved, don’t worry. With you and Becky as his guardian angels he’ll be fine. We love you.

“You expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that you can do, or any kindness that you can show to any fellow creature, do it now. Do not defer nor neglect it, for you shall not pass this way again” Author Unknown

“The secret of life is contentment; if man is content with himself, then he holds the foundation necessary to share his limitless capacity for love with all humanity and ultimately be a success.” Joseph Patrick Hauck (High School yearbook quote)

“Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you’ll regret the things you didn’t do more than the ones you did.” Life’s Instruction Book #346 (High School yearbook quote)

Joe,

There is no doubt in my mind that you are the nicest person I’ve ever met. I’m not sure whether or not I’ll ever meet anyone as nice as you were. You always cheered me up when I was down. Just thinking of you made me happy. In some way, you still somehow manage to cheer me up.

I love and miss you so much. I wish there were more people like you in our world.

So many people are mean to me and put me down. You were never mean or put me down, and I am grateful for this. I’ll always love and miss your kindness, your generosity, everything about you. I’ll always treasure the moments we spent together, I’ll always treasure the memories I have of you. I don’t have many good memories of my life, the ones I have of you are the best. Now, as I look back upon my life, I’m glad I knew you. Your smile was contagious to me! I’ll forever remember you fondly. I don’t remember a single bad thing about you and that is the truth.

Joe, I love you. I always have and I always will. A place in my heart you will always and forever stay.

Love you.
Love,

Laraine

He had volunteered at a camp for homeless children and there was an outbreak there. He lost his life, which he loved, helping others. That’s what Joe’s life was about, helping others. He will forever be loved and missed.

but this life is the test.”
