Hal brightened many lives by his presence. He touched not only those whom he knew during his life, but also those who have come to know him in death. His ashes have been shared with those that love him most, a lifelong friend/business partner, Scott, and his sister, Diane. No one has ever loved another more than these two love Hal.

From his memorial: “…and when he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with the night and pay no worship to the garish sun.”

From his obituary: Hal’s last wish was that all who were touched by his life Commit Random Acts Of Kindness, in his memory.

Thank you Hal for existing in this harsh world as a light being. You have touched so many lives. You will live in death as you did in life—exuberantly and with passion.

You are missed.

God’s finger touched him, and he slept. — Lord Alfred Tennyson

Impossible Dream

To Dream the impossible dream,
To fight the unbeatable foe,
To bear the unbearable sorrow,
To run where the brave dare not go,

To right the unrightable wrong,
To love pure and chaste from afar,
To try when your arms are too weary,
To reach the unreachable star,

This is my quest,
To follow that star-
No matter how hopeless,
No matter how far.

To fight for the right
without question or pause,
To be willing to march
Into hell for a heavenly cause.

And I know if I’ll only be true,
To this glorious quest,
That my heart will be peaceful and calm,
When I am laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this,
That one man scorned and covered in scars,
Still strove with his last ounce of courage.
To reach the unreachable star.

To Dream the impossible dream,
To fight the unbeatable foe,
To bear the unbearable sorrow,
To run where the brave dare not go,

To right the unrightable wrong,
To love pure and chaste from afar,
To try when your arms are too weary,
To reach the unreachable star,

This is my quest, to follow that star,
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far.
To be willing to give when there’s no more to give
To be willing to die so that and justice may live.

Ans I know if I’ll only be true,
To this glorious quest,
That my heart will lis peacefully and calm,
When I am laid to rest.

And the world will be better for this,
That one mam scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove with his last ounce or courage,
To reach the unreachable star.

Beloved Mother and Grandmother
She did not know how much she was loved because the
sickness in her mind would not let her live by her heart. So
she took her own life and maybe she is at peace with
both. I hope God knows she loved him and would not
have taken her own life if she was not sick.
