Sandra Gayle Mack-Gray was a woman whose life cannot be contained by dates, titles, or a list of those she leaves behind. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and woman of faith. She was complicated, funny, strong, deeply loved, and entirely her own.

Her greatest legacy lives in the generations that follow her. It lives in her children and grandchildren, in the family she was born into and the family she gathered around herself, and in the people who loved her enough to carry pieces of her forward.

Sandra knew both joy and hardship during her lifetime. She endured. She changed. She laughed. She loved. She kept going. And through it all, she remained surrounded by people for whom her existence mattered enormously.

She leaves behind stories that will be told again and again, memories that will unexpectedly make us laugh, lessons we may only understand with time, and an unmistakable absence where only she could have been.

Her beloved Aunt Fannye, her lifelong Christian tower of strength, often reminded her, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

We entrust Sandra now to that promise.

She was here.
She was loved.
She mattered.
She was ours.
And she will not be forgotten.
