You went to sleep and did no wake up. How? Why? We all had so much fun. You came to Talladega when we were all in the 6th grade. You could talk faster than anyone I ever knew. There are many great times that we can all remember. We wished we still had you. Tyler is so loved, don’t worry. With you and Becky as his guardian angels he’ll be fine. We love you.

	Came to Believe

	The leaves fell
	From the trees
	Last month

	The trees
	Look dead

	But I believe
	They are alive
	And that
	The leaves
	Will come again

	The sun set this evening
	And it became
	Very Dark

	The world seemed abandoned
	By the light

	But I believe
	The sun will rise
	And
	Light will come again

	I wonder what it is
	That makes the leaves return
	I wonder what it is
	That brings the sun again

	I believe
	That I will try
	To believe
	In something more

	Perhaps
	In
	Some one more.

God Bless you and your family. Joseph was obviously a wonderful person, and God needed him in Heaven.

Joey,
Hi. Sorry I haven’t “written” in a while. I’ve been busy or in a bad mood. I know I could ALWAYS depend on you for a favor, so please ask God to help Jack. He’s sick and is having many tests taken. I hope it’s something that can be taken care of easily. Also, pray for all the people in our world who need it and for the “unsung heros.” Also, for anyone or anything that I have failed to mention.

Love always,
Laraine

		My Hero
		Dedicated to Joseph Patrick Hauck

		You are my hero,
Did I ever tell you that?
		Though I may not have,
		It is a fact.
		You made me so happy,
		You were so kind.
		You never hurt me,
You are always on my mind.
		For so many people,
		You did so much.
		In your short life,
So many lives did you touch.
You were always a perfect ten,
		Never ever a zero.
		Joe Hauck,
		You are my hero.

	Love always and forever,
	Laraine

Joe,
You surely seem like you were a very extraordinary, giving person. You make true the saying “only the good die young”. God bless you and your loving friend Laraine.

Joe, I wrote two more poems for you. Here they are:

The Nicest Person I Have Ever Met

You are the nicest person I have ever met,
	You were a true friend.
It is you I will never forget,
My love for you will never end.

	You helped me to see,
Not everyone in our world is mean.
	The kindness you showed me,
Was the most I have ever seen.

It is not somebody like you,
	You find around every corner.
	So many people love you,
In a way I wish I had known you sooner.

I am still glad I knew you,
Knowing you I will never regret.
What I say next is very true,
Joe Hauck-You are the nicest person I have ever met.

			The End

	You truly were a friend,
	What else can I say?
All good things must come to an end,
	That is what they say.

	Some miss your being kind,
	Some miss your being around.
You are always on my mind,
	So you are still around.

	There are still some memories,
	I have yet to find.
	All these memories,
	Will never be left behind.

They say all good things must come to an end,
But I can prove them wrong.
For my love for you will never some to an end,
And my memories will never be gone.

I can’t begin to tell you how much I miss all the times we have shared. You were a good friend. You always made me happy and always made me laugh. Joe,
Hello. What can I say? Today you’d turn 21. You’d be the kindest 21 year old in the world. You’re NOT gone though, because myself and many other people remember you, very fondly. I can’t help but remember good things about you.
I will never forget you because of all the kind things you have done. I love you always!
Love,
Laraine

“You expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that you can do, or any kindness that you can show to any fellow creature, do it now. Do not defer nor neglect it, for you shall not pass this way again” Author Unknown

“The secret of life is contentment; if man is content with himself, then he holds the foundation necessary to share his limitless capacity for love with all humanity and ultimately be a success.” Joseph Patrick Hauck (High School yearbook quote)

“Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you’ll regret the things you didn’t do more than the ones you did.” Life’s Instruction Book #346 (High School yearbook quote)

Joe,

There is no doubt in my mind that you are the nicest person I’ve ever met. I’m not sure whether or not I’ll ever meet anyone as nice as you were. You always cheered me up when I was down. Just thinking of you made me happy. In some way, you still somehow manage to cheer me up.

I love and miss you so much. I wish there were more people like you in our world.

So many people are mean to me and put me down. You were never mean or put me down, and I am grateful for this. I’ll always love and miss your kindness, your generosity, everything about you. I’ll always treasure the moments we spent together, I’ll always treasure the memories I have of you. I don’t have many good memories of my life, the ones I have of you are the best. Now, as I look back upon my life, I’m glad I knew you. Your smile was contagious to me! I’ll forever remember you fondly. I don’t remember a single bad thing about you and that is the truth.

Joe, I love you. I always have and I always will. A place in my heart you will always and forever stay.

Love you.
Love,

Laraine

To whomever reads this:

As you can probably already tell, Joseph was a warm and kind person. He was born on May 2, 1976 at Rolling Hill Hospital in Elkins Park, PA. He attended Presentation B.V.M. for grade school, and St. Joseph’s Preparority School for High School. He died of Meningoccocal Meningitis on August 27, 1995. As of today, November 27, 1995, he would be a sophomore at Villanova University in Villanova, PA. Joe did many good things for others. He had volunteered at a camp for homeless children and there was an outbreak there. He lost his life, which he loved, helping others. That’s what Joe’s life was about, helping others. He will forever be loved and missed.
